Membership Info

Just to set the record straight, you don't have to be wealthy to enjoy this hobby. We own three locomotives that are available on Sundays for operation by qualified museum members. We provide the training you need to operate and maintain the locomotives. The riding cars and cabooses used on Sundays are generally owned by the museum.

Besides working on trains, members may use the facility for family picnics, birthdays and other events. The facility is available seven days a week. Because we are an operating railroad, members are schooled in safety and operations.

If you enjoy trains and are interested in a train hobby that permits you to ride on the trains, please come and join us for a fascinating adventure. Along with current members, you will be part of a group that included Walt Disney and composer David Rose.

Resident Membership fees are a $100 initiation and annual dues of $100. New members are expected to work at least 42 hours during the first 6 months of membership helping us maintain and operate the railroad. Additional membership categories, including junior and non-resident, are also available.

If you are interested in resident membership (within a 60 mile radius of LALSRM), please come on down and speak with a member of the Membership Committee, or a member of the Board of Directors.

If you are interested in non-resident membership (outside the 60 mile radius from LALSRM), annual dues of $30, you can download and print out the following Non-Resident Membership Application Form, fill it out and mail it back to us with your payment.

Thank you for your interest!
